Breakfast and Lunch Meals for Distance Learners

Pineywoods Community Academy wants to assure that we will do our best for our students. We have created a plan to meet the nutritional needs of all PCA Remote Learning students. We will be providing grab and go meals for breakfast and lunch to any PCA Remote Learning student.

Under the Texas Department of Agriculture guidelines, the meal service will follow the National School Lunch program. Breakfast costs $1.50 and lunch costs $2.70.

Due to economic conditions this year, your child may qualify for free or reduced-priced meals. Please take the time to complete the application. Reduced price meals are $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch.

For your student to receive free or reduced-priced meals, you must complete an application with PCA and be approved. Students who did not qualify in past years may qualify during this pandemic.

Starting August 17th, we will have a curb-side meal location in the front of PCA by the gymnasium. There will be no dine in option or visitation allowed on campus during this time. The grab and go meal serving time is 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. You will be able to pick up breakfast and lunch at the same time.

When you pull up to the front of the building a food service worker will come to your vehicle. You will be required to give the student(s) name and or student ID numbers and then the meals will be provided. Please remember if your student’s meal is not free, your student’s charge account will be charged for the meal provided. We will not be handling cash or payments at the grab and go meal service. If you would like to add money to your students' account you can access the electronic meal payments at www.myschoolbucks.com or you can drop off payment at the campus office between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.

We will continue the meal service as long as the District offers remote instruction. The menu is subject to change and will be based on the availability of food products.

If you are interested in participating in the curbside delivery or if you need more information about applying for free or reduced meals contact Darcy Haden at DHaden@pcacharter.net.

PCA cares about their students and recognizes that our families may be and additional resources during this pandemic.
